OT - Soldering Station

I have HAD IT with my Rat Shack soldering iron. @%#$.

I figure a few of you guys do a lot of soldering and might be able to suggest a decent model soldering station for under $100.00

I am looking at a Hakko 888 or a Weller WES51 but am surely open to other suggestions.

I use and love my Hakko 936. It's about the same price as the 888 you're looking at. There's lots of different tips that are available too.

+1 for Hakko if they're still as good as they were back when they first arrived in the USA.

+2 on the Hakko - have a 936 and it works great, especially the adjustable heat setting for different applications.

Wow.... Its unanimous? Thats something you dont see everyday in a forum.

The 936 has 5 star ratings and praise everywhere I look but none are available online. The 888 is the replacement and rated highly so I will go with it.

I got one of these FX-888 Hakko's and it is VERY NICE. Heats up QUICK and recovers QUICK. Excellent!
